Pricing

Pay for signups you collect.
Not for subscribers you store.

ESPs bill you every month for every contact on your list — forever, including the dead and bounced ones. emcognito charges once, for each verified, double‑opt‑in signup you collect. The list is yours to keep. A quiet month costs you nothing.

  • We never pause your forms. Go over your plan and collection keeps running — soft overage, never a dropped signup. Form backends stop accepting submissions at the cap.
  • No per‑stored‑subscriber tax. You're billed on signups collected this month, not the size of a list you already own.
FREE BETA

emcognito is free during the beta — nothing is billed yet. The plans below are how pricing will work when we leave beta, and we'll give 30 days' notice first. Sign up now and you lock in Founding Dev — free forever.

Plans for when we leave beta

One value metric across every plan: confirmed signups collected per month. Lead metadata, double opt-in, bounce/complaint suppression, and CSV + REST export are on every tier — your list stays portable, free plan included.

Pricing questions, answered straight

What counts as a "signup"?

One confirmed, double-opt-in subscriber. The visitor enters their email and clicks the confirmation link — that single verified signup is what counts toward your monthly total. Unconfirmed attempts, spam, and bounced or suppressed addresses are filtered out before they ever count, so you only pay for real, consented subscribers.

What happens if I go over my plan?

Your forms keep collecting — we never pause them. Extra signups are billed as a small soft overage (about $1 per additional 1,000 confirmed signups), or you can bump to the next tier whenever that works out cheaper. Unlike form backends, we will not silently stop accepting submissions and lose you signups.

What if I add more sites than my plan includes?

Nothing breaks. The site count on each plan is guidance, not a hard cap — add more publishable keys than your plan includes and every one keeps collecting. We will never block a site or switch off a form because you went over. Same promise as signups: soft limits, never a dead key.

Why not just charge per subscriber like Mailchimp?

Because you own your list, not us. Per-subscriber billing taxes you every month for contacts you already collected — including dead and bounced ones. We charge once, when a signup is collected and confirmed, then it is yours to export and keep. A month with no new signups costs you nothing.

I'm a beta user — what do I pay?

Nothing, and you keep it that way. Every account created during the beta is grandfathered into Founding Dev: 5,000 confirmed signups per month, 5 sites, and branding removed — free, permanently. When we leave beta you will get at least 30 days notice before anything changes for new accounts.

Is everything really portable on the free plan?

Yes. CSV export and the /v1 REST API are available on every plan, including free. Double opt-in and bounce/complaint suppression are too. We gate volume, seats, retention, and ops — never your ability to leave with your full list.

Do you offer an SLA?

Not yet, and we will not pretend otherwise. emcognito is in free beta with no SLA. A written, real SLA is part of the Enterprise plan once we are out of beta — we would rather under-promise here than claim uptime we cannot back.
